Merewether Heritage Restoration
This Merewether home featured original hardwood floors that had been hidden under carpet for over 20 years. When the owners pulled up the carpet during renovation, they discovered beautiful Tallowwood boards - scratched and stained, but structurally perfect.
Our floor sanding process revealed the timber's stunning natural grain and warm golden tones. Three coats of water-based polyurethane in a satin finish brought the floors back to life while protecting them for the next decade.

Hamilton Period Home
Hamilton is known for its beautiful period homes, and this project was a standout. The original timber floors had been coated multiple times over the decades, with layers of incompatible finishes creating a patchy, peeling surface.
The floor sanding process required careful removal of all existing coatings - six to eight passes with progressively finer abrasives to reach clean, fresh timber. Gap filling, board repairs and three coats of premium finish completed the restoration.

Newcastle Harbour Apartment
This modern harbour-front apartment presented different challenges to the heritage restorations. The Spotted Gum floors were only five years old but had been poorly finished during the original fit-out, resulting in premature wear and an inconsistent appearance.
A careful floor sanding approach - lighter than a full restoration - removed the failed finish without over-sanding relatively new timber. The recoat with premium water-based polyurethane gave the apartment the quality finish it deserved from day one.
