This Newcastle Harbour apartment was being prepared for sale when we were engaged to restore the existing timber flooring. Despite the incredible outlook and natural light, years of UV exposure had left the floor heavily discoloured and lacking the character it once had.
The amount of light entering the apartment made every detail visible, requiring a careful and consistent sanding process throughout. Particular attention was paid to abrasive selection, machine progression and edge work to ensure the floor looked clean and balanced from every angle.
Once prepared, the floor was coated using Berger-Seidle's premium coating system and finished in CeramicStar UltraMatt. The low-sheen finish restored the warmth and variation within the timber while remaining soft and natural under the apartment's bright lighting conditions.
The transformation was significant, helping bring the entire space back together and allowing the flooring to become an asset to the apartment once again.
